Self-control
and self-concept are two different things, but they are connected in action. Self-control
is basically the ability to control oneself, in particular one’s emotions and
desires or the expression of them in one’s behavior, especially in difficult
situations. Entering towards Self-concept, it is an idea of the self-constructed
from the beliefs one holds about oneself and the responses of others.
Self-control can be done by focusing on looks,
personality/EQ, Etiquette/manners and knowledge or communication skills. With the
combination of self-concept, that includes idea, perception and behavior, it
creates a new personality as a whole. With the attributes that is accepted and
experienced from the environment also having interactions with people, it makes
the self-concept stronger.
Controlling the self-concept can help in
reaching Professional Integrity, if concentrating on the concept at the
workplace. Each and every individual has the obligation to focus on both of
this in order to have a successful personality. A perception, idea and behavior
of a person will determine what will that individual think for another. The control
of own self will bring better self-concept, which will be useful for other’s
impressions towards the individual itself.
“I have a strong personality, and I say what I think.”
~ Penelope Cruz
