Recognizing
yourself within is one of the most important things to be done, before serving
your customers. According of thefreedictionary.com, self is one's identity, character, ability and
attitude, especially in relation to a person or thing outside oneself. Knowingyourself can be done by several ways, as long as you are always open
with what people say about you. Remember, there is no way you can recognize
yourself without the help of others.
The
first step is to know your competence. Competence in this context includes
knowing where have your knowledge, skills and attitude have reached upon.
Knowing these three aspects well can help in knowing where your level stands
and to know the best way on treating different consumer needs with its variety
of behavior.
Secondly,
conduct a self-introspect. This self-introspect should be done together with
asking for feedbacks from the others in the process. It is not going to be easy
if you do this process yourself. Conduct your self-introspection by the help of
Johari Window, where you can see which position you actually stand. Are you in
the open, blind, hidden or unknown stage? Later, know more about yourself by
asking for feedbacks from the ones you know, the ones you can believe and you
feel can provide you the solutions you need.
Billie
Jean King has once quoted, “Self-awareness is probably the most important thing
towards being a champion.” Know yourself; recognize yourself well, better than
the others!
