Being intelligent with competitors…

www.yadayadamarketing.com
Competitors in any businesses can be strength or even a threat. A business that is stable may see a competitor as their power or even motivation, and vice versa for a business which is not in their stable condition. Being intelligent towards competitors is vital, knowing more about them and analyzing it is one way to be an intelligent businessman, bringing about the process known as competitor intelligence.

Competitor intelligence by Andreq Pollard (1999:3) is defined as a process that is systematic and legal in collecting and analyzing on information about the competitors and business potentials. More from clearci.com, competitor intelligence is the action if defining, gathering, analyzing and distributing information about products, customers, competitors and any aspect of the environment needed to support executives and managers in making strategic decisions for an organization.

As per the definition, an understanding can be derived that peeping and learning more about the competitors is a legal process and not to be considered as a cheat. Yet, the business people who are involved within should still make sure that the benchmark taken are not the copyrights or technological patents set, as this could bring about a crime penalty.
