Having social enterprise to grow in
developed or even developing countries like in Indonesia has created its own
pride and benefits. Yet, having social enterprise to grow enormously does not
always bring benefits, but on the other hand, disadvantages may be there too.
As part of its advantages, social
enterprises can:
- Be more
flexible as they can support innovative ways to achieve social purpose.
- Attract
passionate people, to create an inspiring place to volunteer or work on.
- Utilize
people’s skills and make a difference to the community or the environment,
bringing personal satisfaction within.
On the
other hand, social enterprises can bring about several disadvantages:
- Since
social enterprises are businesses, once the ideas are less or market changes,
they can fail
- Difficult
to see a social enterprise as both business and community organizations
- Social
benefits may show its results after years, despite of hard work
Despite
of the pro and cons, social enterprises have shown its own success at most of
the countries in the world. It is a new phrase of business in this century.
