Seeing towards the trend of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia, also the combination of profit organization conducting the social field, one of the giant companies in Indonesia has proven on its success. Danone Indonesia, in combination with their social enterprise organization built named “Danone Young Social Entrepreneur”, has conducted a competition of social entrepreneurship based on Danone Sustainability Development Program. This program has indirectly supported those students who are interested in social entrepreneurship and could share their ideas in the form of a business plan to be put up for a competition.

As seen, competition nowadays has become one of the tools to attract youths in sharing their skills also ideas, in return of a prize that may benefit them. In regards to Danone’s social entrepreneurs’ competition, the winners will be funded for their project execution support, also scholarships that will be paid per month by the organizer. By conducting so, the youth generation will not only be encouraged to share their ideas in return for monetary benefits, but to encourage them to be a social entrepreneur, providing fresh and creative ideas for the organization in the future.

With different types of fields being covered by “Danone Young Social Entrepreneur” competition such as sustainability program, strategic, financial management, social business concept and community development, the youths can learn and be familiar more with the social enterprises that may be developed into their social institution one day. This can help more in the development, also better training towards them.

Bill Gates has once said on entrepreneurship, “Humanity greatest advances are not on its discoveries, but in how those discoveries are applied to reduce inequity.”
